# Cardiac Arrest

## **H\&T Conditions**

Certain conditions will place the patient into a PEA rhythm, causing cardiac arrest. These conditions are known as Hs and Ts and if not treated, will keep the patient in arrest regardless of successful CPR. These conditions (as simulated by KAT) are as follows

* Hypovolemia: The patient has lost above 2.4 liters of blood (Lost a Fatal Amount of Blood)
* Hypoxia: The patient has a SpO2 value that is too low to sustain the heart tissue. This is set at 80% by default
* Hydrogen Ion Excess (Acidosis): The patient’s blood has become too acidic from saline usage
* Tension Pneumothorax: The patient has a tension pneumothorax
* Tamponade: The patient has a cardiac tamponade\
Tamponade is caused when an injury that passes the pneumothorax damage threshold but a pneumothorax is not inflicted,. and a DPI is inflicted instead
