## **KAT Advanced Medical — Documentation Index**

***

Welcome to the documentation index for the KAT Advanced Medical (KAM) mod for Arma 3.

KAT mod users are encouraged to delve into **add-on settings** that can be found in-game after the mod is installed. This applies to both new and returning players after every mod update. Adjust all settings according to your needs or learn about the settings that the host server is using. The mod is not meant to be used alongside ACE Pharmacy.

#### **Before posting any bug reports:**

* Read this documentation.
* Check your client and server settings.
* Use the mod repair feature in the Arma 3 launcher to ensure the mod is updated.
* Try running the mod with only [CBA\_A3](https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=450814997) and [ACE3](https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=463939057) enabled (required dependency mods) to isolate issues.

### 🩺 Accessing the Medical Menu

* Press **H** while looking at a player/AI to open the medical menu.
* While in a vehicle, access the passenger's medical menu via the ACE interaction menu under the *Passengers* category.
* Navigate the menu by selecting specific body parts and tabs on the upper-left of the screen.
* Verify you are treating the correct patient by checking the nickname in the center of the menu.
* *Note: Medical actions can also be undertaken via the ACE self/interaction menu (default: Windows Key), but the dedicated medical menu is recommended due to the complexity of the mod.*

### 🩹 ACE Core Medical Mechanics

* **Wound Types:** Derived from ACE. Avulsions and Velocity wounds are the most severe; Cut and Laceration wounds are less dangerous. Contusions cause no bleeding. Carrying a bleeding patient does not speed up bleeding.
* **Bandages:** Derived from ACE. Elastic bandages provide fast application speed but low durability; QuikClot provides the best endurance; Packing bandages offer a balanced solution for speed, wound coverage, and endurance.
